Why was the model of a Discount Brokerage chosen by iRealty?
The owner of iRealty started out working as an agent in a large
corporate brokerage over 10 years ago. While adapting to the new
position observations were made regarding selling a home for a client
The property is entered on the MLS system and to notify buyers to
contact the broker if they are interested. The vast majority of the time
another broker is involved. This is the same as a home owner listing on
the MLS. Also, after the contract was executed and passed on to the
attorneys, there was really not much left to do for an agent. Another
major change happened due to the inundation of foreclosures hitting the
market. Brokers do not meet clients at the property to show to other
brokers. There is either a lock box on the door or the sellers have to
be present to let potential buyers in. Yes, the office schedules the
appointment but, that is something the client can very well do for
themselves. State laws have ensured that the seller is not completing
the transaction on their own. The broker is required to guide and
address all concerns as well as oversee the contract.
What gives iRealty and advantage is that we only work only in Illinois unlike the national corporate companies. They have to locate a broker and blindly trust them to handle the transaction.

We found Vanessa when we decided to sell our house FSBO. We ended up getting our offer on the first day. Many think that this is a simple process, that they take pictures, write up a description and place on the MLS. What you don't see is the amount of work that goes into the process, pulling comps, getting the price exactly right, the negotiating process, communicating with all the involved parties, etc. etc. We originally choose Vanessa based on cost, only $299 out of pocket seemed like a no brainer but what you don't know is that she handles I cannot stress enough that she is your acting broker, you are selling FSBO but she acts and works as your broker. The only difference is that she does not take a percentage of your profits, she only takes her nominal flat fee. It is very surprising how she does this, why she would want to do this. I am guessing it is for repeat business which I am sure she gets a lot of given that she is a true professional and hard worker.

For 2 years we had our house on the market with a Realtor. We had some showings but no offers.even though our whole house was updated. We decided to try one more time to sell; however, this time we would sell the home by ourselves. A few days after we put a sign on the lawn and on the corner advertising that our home was for sale By Owner we met Vanessa at a home show.
